In a time when parenting methods are scrutinized on social media, a mother of three from the US has sparked a lot of discussion with her most recent TikTokvideo.

Mother of three girls in kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade, Lottie freely acknowledges that she has helped her kids with their homework, especially when they're overburdened with after-school activities.

Viewers' opinions were mix, as was to be expected, with some referring to her strategies as "genius" and others accusing her of encouraging sloth.

How did Lottie defend herself? The excessive strain that comes with homework is simply not worth it, particularly when her girls return home exhausted from extracurricular activities like cheerleading and sports.

I’ll just do the homework; I know all the parents help. She says, “I won’t burden them with arithmetic problems they won’t be able to solve on time.”

When she notes the degree of difficulty of some assignments, her position becomes more apparent: "Some of these projects these teachers offer... The children are seven years old, after all.

But Lottie's not content to simply finish her children' homework. She emphasizes that she wants her children to become strong, moral adults.

"I try not to baby them when they fall, I want to raise them to be strong," she said. "My biggest goal in life is to have an honest relationship with my kids."

Some parents support Lottie without reservation. "This is such amazing parenting!

My son's school had a no homework policy,” Others acknowledge that they have done the same, finding solace in the knowledge that they are not alone.

But there's always more than one side to any story. The long-term consequences of Lottie's plan are causing concern for many.

A worried parent stated: "Doing your child's work for them won't help them in the long run unless you want them to grow up to be entitled and lazy."

Another parent who expressed a teacher's viewpoint on how kids benefit from doing their homework well mirrored this feeling.

It's interesting to note that some parents brought up the idea of homework for primary school pupils as another point of contention.

Some mothers vowed to never do homework again, while another described how her child's elementary school's no-homework policy backfired when he started high school.

"She expressed her desire to become a mother like that when she grows up."Now that my oldest is a high school student, homework is becoming a huge struggle for her.

It makes me wonder if eliminating homework in elementary school is really such a good idea."

"My home will be a place free of homework. It is not expected of children to complete further schoolwork at home after spending the entire day in school.

One ardent supporter stated, "Reading is acceptable, but that is all.

Is there "too much" homework for kids these days to complete? And if your kids seem too exhausted to finish their maths homework, are you the kind of parent who would? Enlighten us in the comments below.
