Woman Ask For Divorce Just One Day After Wedding Over Cake Prank

A DAY after the wedding, the bride says she wants a divorce after her husband breaks her ‘ONE RULE’ and shatters the cake in her face at the reception – but friends say she needs to give him another chance.

  • A woman wrote into Slate’s advice column, Dear Prudence, about her fast-paced divorce.

  • She recounted how her husband had grabbed her by the head and smashed her face into their wedding cake during the ceremony, ignoring her ‘one request’ for the day.

  • She wrote that many friends had encouraged her to ‘run’ and ‘give him another chance’, but social media users had advised her to ‘not give up’.

A woman has revealed she broke up with her husband the day after their wedding because he ignored her request and grabbed the back of her head to smash her face into their cake.

This woman wrote to US magazine Slate's Dear Prudence under the username Give Him Til February about how she got married right before Christmas but now she's hoping to get divorced or annulment by the end of January because of her husband's disrespect.

She revealed that she told him the day after her wedding that it was "over", but over the Christmas holiday many friends told her to give her a second chance and don't give up at the first hurdle.

Journalist Jenée Desmond-Harris, whose column The Distressed Aunt advised her to pursue a divorce, and even questioned her friends, writes: "Keep in mind your loved ones don't seem to appreciate your happiness."

The article has now gone viral with hundreds of people expressing their shock at her husband's actions.

She told Give Him Til February that she had never been interested in getting married, but agreed to it when her boyfriend proposed in 2020. She said that they each took on half the responsibility for the wedding, but that she was willing to compromise when he wanted something.

She added that the only rule was that he wouldn't rub cake in her face at the reception, but he didn't do that. Instead, she said, he grabbed her by the back of her head and shoved her down into the cake.

She said that it was planned because the cake was destroyed and he had a few cupcakes as backup. She said that she left the following day, but that 'everyone' had come together over the holidays to urge her to give him another chance.

She also asked if she was overreacting due to her 'chronic claustrophobia' after being'shoved' into a cake.

She went on to say that she ‘loves him’ but ‘doesn’t feel that way right now’ and that her friends told her it was a ‘big mistake’ to get a divorce so fast.

However, hundreds of people responded saying that this was a ‘warning sign’ and her wishes weren’t being respected.
