The predicament was shared on a Reddit thread called 'AITA' (Am I the a**hole?).
One user decided to share their experience of being asked to be the photographer at a friend's wedding, which turned out to be a complete nightmare.
The original poster (OP) mentioned that they weren't a professional photographer, but due to financial constraints, their friend requested them to capture the wedding moments.
In exchange for $250, OP agreed to take on the responsibility.
A photographer has sparked a heated discussion online by questioning whether they were the 'a**hole' for deleting all the wedding photos of a couple.
Working long hours can make anyone thirsty and hungry, but it seems like all this chaos could have been avoided if someone had just given this photographer a cheeseburger.
They captured every single moment of the special day, but when it was time for the wedding party to sit down and enjoy their meal, the photographer who had been there since the very beginning was forbidden from touching the food and wasn't even offered a seat at the table.
"I started at around 11am and was supposed to finish around 7.30pm. By 5pm, when the food was being served, I was told that I couldn't take a break to eat because I needed to focus on being a photographer.
To make matters worse, they didn't reserve a spot for me at any of the tables. And let me tell you, it was scorching hot too."
"Feeling a combination of heat, hunger, and frustration, I double-checked with them if they were absolutely sure about this. When they confirmed it, I made a bold move and deleted all the photos
I had taken right in front of them," the Reddit user shared, adding that they then informed the groom that they were no longer his photographer.
They then requested the groom for '20 minutes just to grab some water', and then they were given the ultimatum to either continue taking photos or 'leave without pay' - which clearly pushed the photographer over the edge.
They added: "If I was going to be paid $250, honestly at that moment I would have paid $250 just for a glass of water and a place to sit for five minutes."
The original poster then asked if they were the jerk in this situation, and mentioned that the couple did send them an RSVP asking for their food preferences for the day.
As with most things, people had mixed opinions about the photographer's decision.
One person advocated his stance "They were taking benefits from you, to the point of exploiting you, and you took a stand for yourself.
They weren't acting like friends at all, let alone decent people who hired someone for their services at a low price. Don't undervalue yourself in the future, OP."
It's heartbreaking to imagine that all of this could have been prevented if they had just enjoyed a tuna wrap and a bottle of Sprite.
