Vegan Bride uninvites all meat-eating family and friends from her wedding.: ‘We prefer not to entertain murderers’

Imagine being uninvited to a wedding not because you forgot to RSVP, but because you eat meat.

That's exactly what happened to the majority of the guest list at an all-vegan wedding, who were told they were "murderers" for being omnivores and thus barred from attending the big day.

According to a recent Reddit thread, the 20-year-old bride used a Facebook group called 'Vegan Revolution' to explain why she had not invited any meat-eaters to her wedding.

She continued, "You know, it's funny how 'family' can try to guilt trip you into inviting them to your completely vegan wedding, even though they eat everything."

She went on to explain, "Just to provide you with some context, we had to inform certain family members that they won't be joining us on our wedding day.

We simply cannot have murderers present on what is supposed to be the happiest day of our lives."

Then she claimed, "They have consistently attacked me and my partner simply for being vegan.

" When I told them, I was attacked because I don't want the burden of hosting people who continue to kill animals (the very beings we are attempting to protect) at my wedding in my conscience."

She made it clear that guests couldn't just have a vegan meal for the day; if they wanted to come, they had to pledge to give up all animal products for life. "I wouldn't be at ease if they went back to eating meat the very next day," she explained to me.

"I'm sorry if that makes me 'rude' or a 'b-ch' because I'm not compromising my ethics," she wrote.

Naturally, the bride's post went viral, generating thousands of comments.

A person said that instead of using the opportunity to demonstrate the amazingness of vegan food without pressuring anyone, they opted to blackmail their entire family and keep the wedding invitations as leverage.

And a fellow vegan chimed in, saying, "There is a way to celebrate your marriage while sticking to your lifestyle. It's insane to ban non-vegans.

Someone else highlighted additional flaws in the bride's reasoning, stating, "If someone only becomes vegetarian/vegan because they're pressured by others, they're doing it for the wrong motives and will likely revert back to being even more avid meat-eaters once they understand the situation."

And this person was curious about how the bride functioned in society with her strict beliefs: "Can she shop in a store that serves meat? Can she stop in the meat store? Can she eat at a restaurant? Sounds like you're part of a low-key cult, and this is how they separate you from your family."

Others agreed that the bride was on the right track to losing everyone she cared about. "There's no way she's keeping any of her friends after this move," a member of the community commented.

In the meantime, some people were curious about the number of guests who would show up at the wedding. "I mean, seriously, how many vegans do you actually know?!" someone asked.
