Man stuck in the airplane toilet for the whole flight receives a note slipped under the door from the staff saying, “Sir, we tried our best.”
If there’s one thing you don’t want to experience, it’s a nightmare on a plane. From screaming babies to being stuck in a cramped seat, what should be a relaxing flight can turn into an hours-long nightmare.
This is exactly what one man experienced on SpiceJet, when he was stuck in the aircraft’s toilet.
Going to the bathroom on an airplane isn’t something most people relish, but most people find themselves in and out in a matter of minutes after using the lavatory.
This man, however, was stuck in the toilet for the entire flight. The cabin crew couldn’t do anything to help him, except to give him a note tucked under the door saying they had “done their best” and not to panic.
According to Indian Express, the anonymous flier went to the lavatory just after taking off on a 1-hour and 45-minute flight on Tuesday at around 2AM. When he tried to get out of the small stall, the door wouldn’t open due to a faulty door lock.
Passengers and crew members tried to help him, but they couldn’t. He ended up spending the entire flight trapped in the lavatory. Fortunately, it wasn’t a long flight.
According to the anonymous flier, crew members tried to keep in touch with him and even gave him a note underneath the door.
The note read, “Sir, we tried to get you out of the lavatory but the door won’t open. Please close the lid and sit down. Once the main door opens an engineer will be with you.”
"Don't panic," they said. "Engineers broke the door and freed the trapped passenger."
The flight landed at about 03.42 AM in Bengaluru.
SpiceJet published a statement regarding the incident, stating that the customer was "immediately provided with medical support" and that they will receive a full refund.
According to the budget airline, the event occurred on January 16, and the plane was in the air for around an hour when the passenger became caught in the restroom.
SpiceJet mentioned in their statement that their team provided support and guidance to the traveler during the entire trip. "When an engineer arrived, the passenger was freed from the lavatory and was immediately provided with medical support."
