The suggestion made by an Amazon delivery person that customers who place frequent orders should "put out snacks" has stirred an online debate.

Aniya (@aniyamitch), an Amazon driver and TikTok user, has amassed a following of over 88,000 followers after posting humorous videos of herself frequently doing deliveries.

On the other hand, a recent video she posted ignited a contentious debate in her comments section when she recommended regular Amazon shoppers set out candy and snacks for drivers to further their "bond".

Aniya states in the video, which has received over 950,000 views so far, "I'm very confident you got the same driver virtually every day if you order from Amazon every day, every other day, or darn near every week. and you're not setting out snacks? [...] You guys have bonded now."

She goes on, saying, "You guys see each other pretty much every day, so why aren't you leaving any snacks? You really are incorrect."

But even though Aniya's offer was genuinely rather sweet and heartfelt, a lot of individuals didn't agree with her position.

Someone responded, stating that it is quite a lofty expectation considering the fact that you are employed as a package delivery person. You probably get paid for that and buy your own food, too."

"So... now the Amazon drivers are shaking us down for hand outs," a second TikTok member commented. It's just another way of asking for a gratuity."

A third said, "It's a nice gesture to leave snacks but not a requirement." "Amazon makes hella money they can supply snacks daily."

Aniya explained in a later interview with BoredxPanda that the video was intended to be a funny post and a harmless diversion, but it instead provoked a number of acrimonious comments in the comments area.

However, she did say that she does have regular customers who leave gifts for her. Additionally, the kindness shown by drivers is not only endearing but has also garnered media attention in the past.

The following video, courtesy of Inside Edition, captures the moment Dee, a UPS delivery driver from Kentucky, arrives at Toni Hillison Barnett's house.

A big hamper full of snacks, drinks, and treats awaited Dee as soon as he stepped onto the porch, and he couldn't contain his joy. "Oh my God! He can be heard stating, "You guys are the best," on the doorbell camera.

In addition, the comments on the video made it clear why more people should consider paying their drivers.

A YouTuber wrote, "I admire how such small acts of kindness can change one's day completely."

A third person who commented, "UPS driver here," echoed this. Sincerely, we are grateful when you leave munchies on the doorstep. I'm thankful.

So, maybe we shouldn’t put our food on the table for delivery guys other than Santa.

"I'm a driver, and this really makes our day," a second person said.
