Every time I had to say my baby’s name, I would feel cringe, so I changed it.

A mum who named her newborn son 'Cash' is now 'cringing' when she has to introduce him to the world.

She faced 'funny' jokes about if the name was 'written with a dollar sign' like 'Ke$ha', and 'Cash is King' T-shirts were given to her after she went through the 'naming remorse' process.

It's not uncommon for parents to feel 'Naming remorse' after the birth of a new baby. No matter ' a name is, once they start using it in everyday life, it can feel 'different'.

For Kate, from Australia, 'Cash' seemed like a 'cool idea' at first, but 'I was in my postpartum delirium and didn't know if I could do it'.

The last straw, according to Kate, was when another parent called Cash a “hipster name” and she “cried” when introducing him to a new friend.

"I wanted to say ‘hey’ to Johnny Cash", she said, "but I couldn’t think of a single song I could name except ‘I Walk the Line’."

After the name was officially confirmed, Kate’s friends admitted they were "shocked" by the cool" moniker.

She mentioned that the initial occurrence took place when Apple launched their iPhone software update and emojis began appearing whenever she mentioned her son. "I was looking at a classic money bag," she included.

Cash changed his name to "Reuben" when he was just three months old and Kate’s friend came over to do the renaming ceremony for him. “It was a bit of a drag, but I appreciated the sense of humour.”
