AUSTRALIAN mum left in tears after being thrown out of cafe for screaming toddler
Laura Edwards, a mum of three, has taken legal action against a cafe in Queensland after witnessing a family of four being kicked out for screaming.
According to the cafe, the family had been trying to calm their two and three-year-olds for 15 minutes before being asked to leave.
Laura said the cafe staff should have asked the parents if they needed help or asked for one of the toddlers to take a walk. Instead, they simply kicked the family out.
Laura went on to say that "it's sad and shows how far we still have to go when it comes to children being seen but not heard and the research into children's brain development".
According to the Townsville Bulletin, Laura filmed a video in front of Adele's Cafe in Magnetic Island and stormed out in protest.

However, Adele's Cafe co-owner Adrian Dall’oste has since released a statement saying that the incident began when the children became angry after being told that they had to split a gelato.
He claims that one of the children took a steel flask and threw it onto the tile floor, causing other customers to cry and scream.
He claims that the screaming and crying went on for around 15 minutes, making it difficult for other customers to enjoy their food and the atmosphere of the cafe.
Adrian says that he was ‘confused’ as to why Laura had come to the cafe, as ‘it wasn’t about her’.
The co-owner of the cafe said the father of two children confronted him after he “apologized” for asking them to leave. He mentioned that he returned indoors to prevent any more arguments, as they had started to raise their voices.

In Laura’s video, she described the cafe’s decision as “absolutely outrageous.” She said that it was not a “meltdown” or a “tantrum”, but rather a “grizzly kid” who needed help to control his emotions.
She added that the parents were sitting with them and that both children were crying. “As the guy came back inside, I went up to him and said, ‘Are you being told to leave because your kid is crying?’, and he said, ‘Yes, we were just told to leave because they were crying.’.
She then claims to have had a disagreement with the staff who allegedly told Laura that their cafe was not a 'creche'.
She mentioned that I understand how people can sometimes judge you for having children, especially when they throw tantrums.
However, it's important to remember that their brains are still developing, and they require our support to navigate through those emotions.
