According to a hospital official, Safina Namukwaya gave birth to a boy and a girl on Wednesday at the hospital in the capital Kampala via cesarean section.

Uganda's KAMPALA After undergoing fertility therapy, a 70-year-old woman in Uganda gave birth to twins, making her one of the oldest new mothers in history.
The Women's Hospital International Facility Center's spokesman, Arthur Matsiko, stated that Safina Namukwaya gave birth to a boy and a girl on Wednesday through cesarean section at the hospital in the capital Kampala, where she was undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment.
"She is in good health. She's speaking. Speaking of Namukwaya, who gave birth to a daughter at the same institution in 2020 after undergoing IVF therapy, Matsiko stated on Friday, "She's walking around if they tell her to walk around the hospital."
The owner of the facility, a well-known gynecologist in East Africa, is Namukwaya, the oldest lady to give birth there. The facility specializes on providing support to infertile couples.
Research advances are increasing the success rates in vitro fertilization. Notably, the media revealed that a 73-year-old southern Indian woman who received IVF treatment in 2019 gave birth to twin girls.
